TREATMENT GROUP DESCRIPTIONS
Gender Specific Group
Gender Specific Group is a 12-week therapy group that gives participants an opportunity to explore issues in a same sex environment. This group also provides an opportunity to gain insight into how the disease of addiction is impacted by their gender. Clients may extend participation beyond 12 weeks.

Relapse Prevention is a 12-week psychoeducational group that gives participants an opportunity to thoroughly examine past and present attempts to achieve recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol. Relapse Prevention walks clients through the recovery and relapse processes while building a solid plan to maintain sobriety amidst the challenges of post-acute withdrawal and early abstinence. Relapse Prevention consists of a series of discussions, exercises, and written plans that, when completed, become a recovery maintenance plan participants can use to examine progress in recovery and to intervene with themselves when challenges occur.

Recovery Group
Recovery Group is a 12-week therapy group that explores the underlying elements and issues of clients recovering from addiction. The purpose of this group is to give participants a thorough understanding of the addictive process and lay the foundation for long-term recovery. This group utilizes a combination of readings, discussion, and sharing of personal experience to increase insight and understanding.

Relapse II
Relapse 2 is a 12 week therapy group designed for clients with multiple or chronic relapse issues. The purpose of this group is to provide a group therapy environment in which clients can safely discuss personal issues, attitudes and behaviors affecting abstinence. Clients are expected to support and challenge each other in order to facilitate changes in behavior. For some clients, this group may be assigned as part of aftercare. Clients are expected to complete 12 weeks but may continue for a longer time if desired or indicated as part of the individualized treatment plan.

The Education Group: It's Your Choice
It's Your Choice is a 12 week psychoeducational group designed to provide basic addictions education and an opportunity for clients to assess the impact of their use on their lives. Various substances and related issues, the processes of addiction and recovery, effects of addiction on families, and individual consequences of use on life areas will be discussed and clients will complete a plan for change similar to a 1st step in 12 step recovery. It's Your Choice will be run as a shorter, half hour session on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays as many of the sessions will be didactic in format and will last for 4 weeks.

Aftercare Group
The Aftercare group is an open-ended therapy group that gives continuing care to clients who have completed the series of twelve week groups. The purpose of Joy in Sobriety is to give clients a supportive, therapeutic setting in which to explore issues in early sobriety such as establishing a sober lifestyle; repairing consequences of addiction such as relationships, finances, employment, or health; socializing, creating new relationships and having fun in sobriety; and spiritual growth. Clients are expected to complete 12 weeks but may continue for a longer time if desired or indicated as part of the individualized treatment plan.

Gambling Group
The gambling group is a twelve-week process/therapy group that explores the dynamics and features of problem and compulsive gambling. Utilizing concepts and exercises from the state of Indiana’s gambling treatment program manual, clients will work with the stages and concepts of gambling addiction as well as the recovery and relapse processes as they relate to client's own experiences and circumstances.
