RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM
ORIENTATION PHASE

APPLICANT: Please read this page; it explains the routine you will follow during your first weeks at the halfway house.

The purpose of orientation phase is to help you get acquainted with Amethyst House and everyone in the house. Orientation phase consists of certain restrictions, guidelines, and goals to meet that apply to a minimum of the first 10 days here, but is also individually determined.

PHASE I: Begins immediately upon arrival.

Remain on the property for the first 24 hours. You may go to a 12-step meeting with another resident. With staff approval, if you are with another resident and you return immediately after. Use this time to get settled in, meet the residents, and make plans for your job search

PHASE II: Begins after the first 24 hours of residency.

*You may leave the property for the following reasons:

  1. looking for work or working
  2. medical needs
  3. going to meetings or treatment
  4. religious services

*The following must be completed before you can complete orientation phase.

(You will remain on orientation for 10 days and until these goals are completed.)

  1. Find employment at a minimum of 32 hours and no more than 50 hours per week
  2. Pay at least one week's room and board.
  3. Get a 12-step-program sponsor.
  4. Have an intake appointment with CHAP clinic. 812-353-2901
  5. Complete a meeting attendance log form.
  6. Read the Community Agreements and ask questions
