DIRECTORS:

TOM COX, NCAC II, CADAC IV, ICAC II
Executive Director / Gambling Specialist
Tom has 40 years of experience in the drug and alcohol treatment field.  He is a founding member and original administrator of the Addiction Resource Network of Indiana, Inc. (the Hoosier Assurance Plan Managed Care Netowrk).  Tom has directed and developed programs throughout Indiana and has served on the Governor's Addiction Advisory Council for two former governors.

MARK DELONG, MSEd., LICDC, ICAADC, CCS, CADAC IV
Associate Director of Clinical Services
Mark has been in the field of substance abuse for the past 22 years.  He received his Bachelors Degree from Wilmington College (Wilmington, Ohio) in 1989 and his Masters Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Dayton (Dayton, Ohio) in 1997.  For the 12 years prior to his position at Amethyst House, Mark worked as the Clinical Supervisor of Aurora Addiction Services at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.  He served as a Board Member on the Addiction Resource Network of Indiana, Inc. from 1998 to 2006.  Mark joined Amethyst House in November 2006.

GINA LOVELL, BS
Associate Director of Administration
Originally from Logansport, Indiana she has lived in Bloomington since 1984.  She graduated from Indiana University in 1988 with a degree in Quantitative Business Analysis.  After graduation she worked at a couple of local banks until 1992 when she became a stay-at-home mom, although she continued to work part-time as an independent bookkeeper.  Gina joined Amethyst House in November 2004 as a part-time, temporary bookkeeper and was hired full-time in February 2005.

STAFF:

FATIMA AL-MAZRUI
Case Manager
Fatima was born and raised in Bloomington, IN.  Prior to becoming part of the Amethyst House team she was a Call Center Manager for a company that raises funds on a national scale for non-for-profit organizations.  Fatima joined Amethyst House in June of 2009 as a case manager at the Men's House.

ANNIE CHEEK, BS
Case Manager

Annie received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University (Marion, IN) in 2006. She stayed in Marion for two years working as a case manager for Grant-Blackford Mental Health before relocating to Bloomington in August.  Annie joined the Amethyst House team in September of 2008 as a full-time case manager at the Women's House.

JULIA DOTSON, BA
Lead Case Manager

Julia received her BA from Indiana University in 1984 and has worked in social services for over 35 years. She has a stong background in residential services and program development.  Julia has been a CARF surveyor for sixteen years. She has worked for Amethyst House since 2004 and supervises the three residential programs in Bloomington as Lead Case Manager.  She has developed a Strength-based Case Management focus, involving families in the process of recovery.  She is a strong advocate for clients and families seeking recovery from substance abuse. 

STACEY GROVES, LMFT, ICAC II
Outpatient Counselor

Stacey has been in the field of substance abuse for about thirteen years working in various settings including detox, inpatient, halfway house, and outpatient. Stacey acquired her certification in substance abuse counseling in 1998 originally as a CADAC II and is currently certified as an ICAC II. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Indiana University in 1993 and her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana State University in 2002. Stacey became a licensed therapist in 2005. Prior to returning to Amethyst House in January 2007, Stacey worked as the Program Supervisor/Addictions Therapist for the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program at the Hamilton Center in Terre Haute, Indiana.

RICK LYKINS, ACIT
Case Manager
Rick joined Amethyst House in November 2004 as a part-time technician at the Men's House. In August 2006 he became a full-time Case Manager at the Men's House. He served on the Amethyst House Program Committee for one year before becoming an employee. Rick has been in the construction industry for the past thirty years. He has been active in the recovering community since 1987.

SAMANTHA MEADOWS, LSW
Outpatient Counselor
Samantha received her BA from Northwestern University in 2003 and her Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University in 2008. After completing a practicum with the Indianapolis VA in their Substance Abuse Treatment Section, Samantha moved to Bloomington and has since been working in the mental health and substance abuse fields. She believes in empowering individuals to meet their recovery goals, and works to address the stigma associated with substance use treatment through community involvement in both Bloomington and Indianapolis.She joined Amethyst House in September of 2009.

LINDSAY SCHMUHL, BS
Office Manager
Lindsay is originally from Elkhart, Indiana and moved to Bloomington in 2004 to attend Indiana University.  She completed her intership with Amethyst House from October 2007 to April 2008 and joined the staff full-time after graduation.  She graduated from SPEA, marjoring in Health Administration. 

CLARENCE WEST
Men's Halfway House Addictions Technician

Clarence is an alumnus of Amethyst House and joined the staff in June 2003. Clarence works part-time for Amethyst House and is employed full-time at Cook, Inc. Clarence serves as a role model and mentor for those in early recovery.

STEVE WILLIAMS
Night Monitor / Addictions Technician/ Environmental and Structural Maintenance Support

Steve has been employed with Amethyst-Bloomington for over 12 years. Steve serves as a role model and mentor for those in early recovery.

KRISTIN WOLFE
Group Facilitator
She has worked in the field of chemical dependency for 7 years.  She is currently facilitating evening IOP groups, provides assessments and individual counseling.  She is also a staff member at Meadows Hospital in Bloomington where she works with inpatient detox patients and their families.  She joined Amethyst house in December 2008.

  • Amethyst House will be participating in the annual Homeward Bound Homeless Walk Corordinated by by Indiana Association for Community Economic Development and City of Bloomington. 
  • Join us in the fight against homelessness by donating or getting a group of your friends together to walk for Amethyst House.
