MIKE ADAMS AT HIS HONEST WEIGHT

A “pop savant of the first order” (AllMusic) who “projects an outsize persona from the stage” (Pitchfork), Mike Adams has created a singular homespun entertainment universe since 2011’s Oscillate Wisely. He’s an appealingly confident showman on his cable access-style variety show (The Mike Adams Show), and an affably humble Hoosier touring musician on his podcast (Tan Van Tour Talk). As Mike Adams at His Honest Weight, he’s a hooky songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a knack for embodying contradictions. The latest in a prolific stream of recordings, Guess for Thrills gets deep, blending 70’s-inspired pop songs with synthesizer-driven atmospherics and emerging with a wild and searching album that treats ambiguity as a place of discovery.  This combination of ephemera, vulnerable songwriting, and sonic homage to his many influences makes Guess for Thrills a new leap for Adams. It’s kicking around somewhere between levity and gravity, sincerity and satire, and retro and contemporary stylings, but with a new level of intimacy and self-realization.

dAMION

Damion is a singer and songwriter based in Bloomington. Upon his 2022 album release, 'Special Interest', Earth Libraries applauds the "ethereal wonderland of Special Interest, sinking headfirst into the maple syrup sweetness and impressionistic lyrics. And as the album closes on the title track, it does so on the mystic compulsion of art, of music, of being a musician".

shanda sung, emcee

Shanda Sung is a Bloomington, Indiana favorite and regular at the Comedy Attic, where she recently taped her first special, Pickles, due out in 2024. Her stand up has been seen and enjoyed by audiences throughout the Midwest. She was featured on the album "On Tour Live from Bloomington" and the premiere episode of the Vice network show "Hunters".  Shanda has been featured at the Limestone Comedy Festival, the Milwaukee Comedy Festival and the Finger Lakes Comedy Festival.  Shanda’s comedy is a look into her sometimes absurd life as a mother, woman and human being, but audiences only need to be one of those 3 to find her relatable and hilarious.

Amethyst House 10th Annual Benefit
concert 2023

Amethyst House will be hosting its 10th Benefit Concert with local artists at the John Waldron Arts Center. This annual event brings together advocates, supporters, and those in recovery to celebrate our work and bring attention to the need for community services for those experiencing and recovering from substance-use disorders. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, substance abuse arose from isolation and stress. Now, more than ever communities members are seeking treatment towards recovery. Join us for a decade-long celebration of supporting the mission of the Amethyst House!

Rodeola

Bloomington, Indiana's Kate Long is the lush and lo-fi Rodeola. Since 2006, Long has quietly released her ambient-leaning folk-rock with a minimalist focus on mood over structure. Built around her halcyon, indelible voice, Long's songs tend to examine the transient meaning and often uncomfortable complexity of relationships.

Rodeola's 2021 self-released album, Arlene, received unsolicited attention from Pitchfork, who described it as "alternately knotty and radiant," and Brooklyn Vegan, who deemed it "timeless."
