Mark has been in the field of substance abuse for the past 35 years. He received his Bachelors Degree from Wilmington College (Wilmington, Ohio) in 1989 and his Masters Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Dayton (Dayton, Ohio) in 1997. For the 12 years prior to his position at Amethyst House, Mark worked as the Clinical Supervisor of Aurora Addiction Services at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. He served as a Board Member on the Addiction Resource Network of Indiana, Inc. from 1998 to 2006. Mark joined Amethyst House in November 2006 as Clinical Director and became Executive Director in 2010.

SCOTT BISCHOFF, PH.D.
Scott obtained his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from IUPUI in 1992 and his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Ball State in 2014. He has worked extensively with substance abuse disorders, complex trauma and attachment based trauma disorders, anxiety and depressive disorders, and borderline personality disorder. He was adjunct faculty at Ball State University from 2015-2021, has extensive experience providing clinical supervision, and also has experience conducting couple and family therapy. He has worked primarily with underserved populations, including work at two federally funded community health centers, community health centers, a child and adolescent residential treatment center, and worked with a state hospital based addictions program for several years. Scott is trained in EMDR and has been using this technique for over 15 years; he is also trained in DBT, TF CBT, Emotion Focused Couple’s Therapy, and ACT.

GINA LOVELL, BS
Originally from Logansport, Indiana, Gina has lived in Bloomington since 1984. She graduated from Indiana University in 1988 with a degree in Quantitative Business Analysis. After graduation she worked at a couple of local banks until 1992 when she became a stay-at-home mom, although she continued to work part-time as an independent bookkeeper. Gina joined Amethyst House in November 2004 as a part-time, temporary bookkeeper and was hired full-time in February 2005.

Office Manager
Jerri is a lifelong resident of Bloomington, IN. She obtained her Undergraduate (BM) and Masters Degrees (MM) from Indiana University’s Jacob School of Music. Prior to joining Amethyst House as Office Manager in July 2017, she worked in the Property Management field for the past 15 years.
Laura Monroe
Billing Specialist
Laura moved to Bloomington in 2003 to attend Indiana University. She fell in love with the town and decided to make it her home. She is a mother, a member of Bloomington's recovery community, and loves to meet people from all walks of life. Laura's hobbies include gardening, crossword puzzles and word games, whittling wooden creatures, and embroidery. She is happy to help people in early recovery navigate their insurance policies and is eager to learn as much as she can along the way.

SARAH J. MURRAY, MSEd., LMHCA
Addictions Counselor
Upon completing her bachelor’s degrees at Western Michigan University, Sarah started her career in 2009, as a LISC AmeriCorps member in Benton Harbor, Michigan. After her year of service, Sarah continued to work in community development across west Michigan. She obtained her Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University in 2015, and then worked for the C.S. Mott Foundation where she supported international grant-making aimed at increasing renewable energy access and protecting communities and the environment in developing countries. Sarah moved to Bloomington in 2017, when she accepted a position of Associate Director in the Office of International Development at Indiana University. She later moved to a Research Associate position with Indiana University’s Eppley Institute for Park and Public Lands. Shifting from working with communities to helping individuals, Sarah studied Mental Health Counseling at Indiana University and graduated with a Master’s of Science in Education in 2023. Sarah specializes in providing trauma-informed care to adults with substance use disorder.

Ally graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2021. She then obtained a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a focus on the treatment of substance use disorders from Indiana University in 2023. She has been associated with Amethyst House since early 2022, when she began her internship, and is happy to be working full-time since June of 2023.
CARROLLYNN SHARP, LMHCA; LCACA
Addictions Counselor
Carrollynn received her Bachelor's in Psychology from Indiana University Northwest in 2020. She then moved to Bloomington to obtain her Master's in Mental Health Counseling with a focus in addictions, which she completed in 2022. Prior to becoming a therapist, Carrollynn worked in a variety of healthcare/mental health settings ranging from acute to long-term. Carrollynn has a strong passion for helping others. She takes a client-centered approach and uses evidence-based practice with her clients. Outside of work, Carrollynn enjoys going to concerts, stand-up comedy, and spending time with her cat, Squid. She joined Amethyst House full-time September of 2024.

Arsalan Rehman is a dedicated advocate and clinician for individuals in recovery with a Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University. A U.S. Army veteran, Arsalan brings a trauma-informed and person-centered approach to his work, drawing on both clinical training and lived experience. He is passionate about supporting individuals in recovery reclaim a sense of purpose, achieve their goals, and find success in their pursuit of happiness. Prior to joining Amethyst House, Arsalan completed clinical training in a variety of settings, with a focus on mental health, addiction, and the complexities of trauma. His approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and the belief that recovery is both possible and deeply personal. In addition to his clinical work, Arsalan volunteers with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his family and two dogs.

LESLIE NOBLE
Case Manager, Women's House
Leslie began as a resident at Amethyst House and has essentially been a part of the Amethyst family since. After graduating from the program, she was inspired to help others overcome the same issues she had dealt with and found herself working in another recovery facility as well as filling in at Amethyst House on her time off. She has truly found her calling in assisting others on their journey toward recovery and reentry into the community. Leslie believes her background gives her a unique viewpoint that allows insight and empathy as well as the ability to offer firm but fair guidance with residents so that they may successfully complete the program and have positive outcomes. Leslie enjoys time with her children and her pets in her spare time and is also working towards earning CADAC credentials.
KRISTI SAWYER
Case Manager, Women's House
From Indianapolis, IN, Kristi moved to Bloomington in January of 2024. She is an Alumni of Amethyst House with a passion for recovery and helping others. In order to pursue that passion, Kristi accepted a position as a technician at Amethyst House where she was able to work closely with women in early recovery. Her belief in the program fueled her commitment and dedication to Amethyst House, she became a Case Manager in May of 2025.
CARMYN GOODMAN
Case Manager, Men's House
Carmyn began working for Amethyst House in September of 2022. Prior to her position at Amethyst House she worked for multiple inpatient rehabilitation centers as a Behavioral Health Technician. Carmyn is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding addiction. She is appreciative to have an opportunity to work with a dedicated team focused on assisting individuals in building a foundation for their recovery.
Jim Oliver
Case Manager, Men's House
Jim lives on a farm owned by his family since the 1850s near Beanblossom in the rolling hills of northern Brown County where he has spent the majority of his life. Jim has a BA in French from Indiana University. He speaks English, French, Romanian -his maternal grandmother's native language- and some Spanish and Italian. Having worked for Amethyst House since December 2023, Jim's employment history includes farming, hospitality, education, communication, translation, and social work. Jim has traveled in North America and Europe where he returned to his families' ancestral villages. He longs to explore more of the world. Jim's interests include travel, languages and cultures, genealogy, history, gardening, and foraging. The centerpieces of his life are his recovery, friends, and family.

Jill is a Bloomington native who began working with Amethyst in 2018. Jill is committed to breaking barriers to treatment in her position as the Admissions Coordinator. Jill’s educational background is in criminal justice and looks to use this knowledge to help clients navigate the criminal justice system.
